Augustine Mowa III

Corn / Clown

11" total height
8" to top of head

This kachina is known as Nah Took Vookeh and is half corn dancer and half clown.

It is said that there was a great destruction that caused all the kachinas to break apart, but eventually they were assembled again and all were assembled correctly except the Corn and Koshare - which were put together - making up this kachina.

Augustine Mowa III is a respected carver from Second Mesa. His work is easily recognized and has a bold, broad appeal.

We particularly liked the feather work involved in this piece.
